Waterway Houseboats has teamed up with B.C. 4-H to offer a unique fundraiser and exciting contest for clubs through the 2011-2012 year. When you or someone you know, books a 2012 houseboat vacation with Waterway there is now an opportunity to support your 4-H club at the same time…and it’s really easy!

Each B.C. 4-H club will receive “numbered booking cards” in their 2011-2012 enrolment packages. Club members and leaders may hand these cards out to anyone interested in a houseboat vacation. At the time of booking and payment of their 2012 holiday, the vacationer will supply Waterway with the “B.C. 4-H Club Card Number”. 10% of the cost of the vacation will be given back to B.C. 4-H to be shared with the club (10% B.C. 4-H, 90% to the club!) The 4-H Club with the most 2012 Waterway vacations booked and paid for by September 30, 2012 will win a Waterways Houseboat vacation for their club! This holiday may be used at the discretion of the club either for their own use or as a great raffle prize to raise even more funds!

Merial Canada is pleased to announce the continuation of its IVOMEC & EPRINEX BoxBack fundraising program in conjunction with the Canadian 4-H Council. Merial will donate ten dollars to the local 4-H Club for each box label of eligible IVOMEC Pour-On or EPRINEX Pour-On returned through the program. 4-H members are encouraged to cut out a specified section of the cardboard packaging (after the contents have been used) and submit it to Merial. Since its inception, the IVOMEC & EPRINEX Jug Recycling Program has diverted over 11 tons of Merial plastic Pour-On containers from landfills to recycling facilities, and resulted in over $190,000 in refunds and donations. This recycled plastic will instead become durable plastic fence posts. Now, the IVOMEC & EPRINEX 4-H BoxBack Program continues this tradition of community leadership and product stewardship for Merial Canada.

Did you know that in 2010 Dairy 4-H Clubs across BC received over $9,000 from the Westgen Endowment Fund? Our dairy youth have benefited greatly by semen purchases from Westgen, thanks to the three successful 4-H fundraisers Westgen carried out in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Westgen strongly believes in supporting the development of the next generation of dairymen and dairy industry leaders. Westgen was pleased to announce another successful fundraising event for 2010.
