4-H Awards Program

This is an online training session to help 4-H Leaders learn about the 4-H British Columbia Awards program.. Topics include:

  • Junior Awards
  • Junior Proficiency
  • Senior Awards
  • Grade 11/12 Credits
  • Achievement
  • Planning 4-H Awards Nights

Registration: Simply click the link below and log on using your 4-H British Columbia secured site username and password. A registration screen will open and you will be asked to enter some personal details. Once the registration screen is complete you can start the course immediately.  The course will take 1-1.5 hours. When you reach the end of the course you will be asked to click FINISH. This will submit your answers and registration information to the Youth Development Staff who will issue your official certificate or seal of completion.

4-H BC Webinar Series: Project Profile: Junior Leader

Junior Leader 4-H Project Webinar Rescheduled – Tuesday, February 20th, 7:00 pm

The Junior Leader 4-H Project Webinar, originally planned for this Wednesday, January 31st has been rescheduled. This webinar will now be taking place on Tuesday, February 20th at 7:00 pm.

Vancouver Island Leader Training

9:00 am-Noon             Room #1 Put the Child First

                                    This training program is mandatory for all 4-H leaders within their first two years of leadership.

The session will help volunteers understand how to work safely with youth, recognize potential indicator signs of abuse, and take appropriate action in cases where youth are in need of help or protection.

                                    Room #2 Project Teaching

This session will help leaders develop skills that will be helpful in teaching youth about 4-H project work. The session will not be project specific but will focus on teaching techniques, understanding 4-H record books, and planning achievement days.

Noon-12:30                 Lunch Break – light lunch provided, we unfortunately cannot cater to special diets

 

12:30-3:30pm              Room #1 Introduction to 4-H

            This training program is mandatory for all 4-H leaders within their first two years of leadership.

In this session leaders will learn about the history, objectives, and structure of the 4-H program in BC. The session will provide access to tools and resources that can help 4-H leaders support their members in making the most of the 4-H experience.

           Room #2 Communications Program

This session will teach leaders about  the 4-H communications program and how to be most effective in teaching youth about communications. Leaders will learn the differences between the various communications activities, how each activity is evaluated, and where to find activity ideas to make communications fun.

Peace River Leader Training
