4-H BC ALUMNI PROJECT COORDINATOR  Summer Student Opportunity

 

4-H British Columbia is recruiting for the position of Alumni Project Coordinator Summer Student. This part-time, temporary position is a key member of the team reporting to the 4-H BC Manager.

 

Working closely with 4-H BC staff, our partner organization staff (the BC Ministry of Agriculture Youth Development Team) and 2 volunteer boards (4-H BC Provincial Council and the 4-H BC Foundation), you will be assisting in the development and execution of Alumni events from concept to completion.

 

  1. BC is looking for an enthusiastic, detail oriented, flexible, team player to engage and reconnect with our Alumni.

 

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Expand current alumni database
  2. Assist with development of campaigns and events to engage and reconnect 4-H alumni
  3. Work with 4-H Staff for communications, marketing and networking in support of the alumni campaigns and events
  4. Assorted Administrative tasks as required
  5. Reporting on progress of work to Manager as well as at weekly staff meetings

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: (skills, ability and personal suitability)

 

  1. Student pursuing post-secondary studies in Administration and Business Management, Media Relations, Creative Writing or related fields
  2. 1 year minimum experience in planning, organizing, promoting and implementing events
  3. Be a self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to problem solve and apply critical thinking
  4. Have excellent written, oral and presentation skills including professional telephone skills
  5. Have strong computer skills, competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Calendar), Adobe Acrobat
  6. The ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a multiple project environment while meeting deadlines
  7. Knowledge of the 4-H BC program an asset but not a requirement

 

This position is located at the 4-H BC Provincial Office, 1150 Kalamalka Lake Rd, Vernon, BC.

 

The Alumni Project Coordinator position is based on a 30 hour work week, Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend work depending on job requirements. The final candidate is required to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search.

 

Wage: $15.00/hr.

Work Term: May 14 – August 24, 2018
